Mastering Manufacturing Program

Five Key Benefits of Adding Ignite to Your CTE Program

X-Cal and manufacturing training partner, Amatrol, are helping provide high school students with another amazing technical career option. The IGNITE: Mastering Manufacturing program is designed to give students technical knowledge and hands-on skills needed to be successful in the manufacturing industry. To better understand IGNITE, below are five key points to consider when introducing this advanced manufacturing training program.

1
Build at your own pace

IGNITE is structured in a flexible modular way so students can learn at a one-, two- or three-year program. It consists of six one-semester courses, which are; Introduction to Advanced Manufacturing, Introduction to Systems, Mechatronic Systems, Digital Manufacturing Systems, Advanced Materials & Design and IIoT, Data Analytics, & Networking.

2
Igniting the perfect instructor

Have no fear when it comes to training an ideal instructor. The IGNITE program provides the necessary resources and flexibility for any CTE teacher to learn and provide the best information to students. The guides provided for teachers include a flow chart that will show how each course should be taught. Students will also learn in a multitude of ways, including; group blocks, pod rotations, mini-projects, field trips and even the option of eLearning. IGNITE instructors will also have the opportunity to attend Amatrol Technical Training Institute (ATTI) in Jeffersonville, Indiana to help provide to top materials.

3
Well-rounded skills training

While students will be learning the very valuable technical skills that are continually needed to close the skills gap, they will also learn much more in the IGNITE program. Students will also learn “common employability skills,” also known as CES, such as communication, teamwork and critical thinking. These CES along with the information learned in the hands-on IGNITE program will help future students become invaluable employees.

4
Preparing for Industry-Standard Certifications

Employers want to make sure their employees are not only top candidates for technical jobs, but also have the most up-to-date industry-standard certifications. That is why the IGNITE program makes sure students are able to obtain certifications like the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) Certified Production Technician Plus Skill Boss certification or advanced Industry 4.0 certifications from the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA).

5
Industry and IGNITE team up

To have a successful CTE program in your area, you must also make sure you are teaching what is around you. So be sure to recognize what technical industries are in your area and that your CTE program is tailored to that. Industry and educators connecting are key to having an effective class and career. Allowing students to have an industry leader from the beginning can help them learn to be the best at recognizing what they need to do to be successful in the areas of manufacturing.
