In-Line Multiple-Reduction Helical Gear Reducer Cutaway
Gear reducers, also known as gear boxes, gear drives, or speed reducers, are enclosed mechanical devices that use gears to lower the speed and raise the torque of an electric motor. There are a wide variety of different types of gear reducers for specific applications.
In-line helical gear reducers have a unique set of benefits. They’re useful in higher horsepower applications where long-term efficiency is more important than initial costs, which can be higher for this type of gear reducer (although in-line reducers are less expensive than parallel shaft reducers). In addition to being highly efficient, in-line helical gear reducers are capable of handling higher overhung loads.
Many different industries use in-line helical gear reducers, including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, packaging, food processing, plastic, paper, rubber, steel, mining, and power plants. Specific applications include conveyors, agitators, crushers, elevators, cranes, mixers, kneaders, thickeners, aerators, plastic extruders, coal pulverizing mills, and larger ball mills.
DAC Worldwide’s In-Line Multiple-Reduction Helical Gear Reducer Cutaway (205-255) is one of an extensive series of actual industrial gear reducer cutaways for use in hands-on mechanical drives training in either the classroom or the laboratory.
Each cutaway consists of a real piece of industrial equipment that has been cleaned, restored, repainted, and mounted on a modular, heavy-gauge, formed-steel baseplate. It can also be mounted on a compatible DAC Worldwide bench, workstation, or storage product. All primary functional features are retained, and replacement hardware is provided where necessary.
Industry-Standard Components Provide Realistic, Hands-On Training
Technical training is most effective when learners can gain hands-on practice with industry-standard components they’ll encounter on the job. The In-Line Multiple-Reduction Helical Gear Reducer Cutaway features a carefully-restored, sectioned, industrial in-line multiple-reduction helical gear reducer to provide learners with a realistic training experience that will build skills that translate easily to the workplace.
The In-Line Multiple-Reduction Helical Gear Reducer Cutaway is a sturdy unit mounted on a 7-gauge, formed-steel baseplate with provision for bench-top, workstation, or storage rack mounting. Where necessary, it has been painted with a highly-durable urethane coating. An applicable installation and maintenance manual from the original manufacturer is also included with each cutaway.
Expand Training Capabilities with Custom Options
The In-Line Multiple-Reduction Helical Gear Reducer Cutaway can be customized with available options to create a training system that matches a particular industry’s or user’s specific needs. For example, available options for this cutaway include: an IPT Industrial Trades Training Manual or Handbook and an Electromechanical Workstation.

Our learning programs develop job-ready skills that have been proven time and again. Take a look at how we can help you be successful!
Colleges are challenged to offer courses whenever students are available – and frequently, wherever they are available. Students want courses that are available on campus as well as from home while also providing strong hands-on skills for the technology demands facing them. Meeting these demands is no small task.
Amatrol has learning programs that allow colleges to excel in this demanding environment. We offer a full range of learning systems, both in a traditional equipment lab setting as well as in a virtual lab, that meet and exceed students' expectations.
